The Museu da Terra de Miranda is located in the historic centre of Miranda do Douro, housed in the city's former Domus Municipalis, a 17th century building. Founded in 1982, its ethnographic character has as a special vocation the preservation and dissemination of the culture and traditions of the mirandese plateau, including the mirandese language, second official language of the Portuguese Republic since 1999.
